An ex serviceman, who was working as a guard with Bank of Hyderabad, died today under very perplexing circumstances.
The deceased, 54 year old N Vijayan, stood up when the AGM of the bank and the AGM's driver came.
There was then a loud sound and the guard fell dead.
Initially, suicide was suspected as the cause of death, but the police soon came and asked the bank officials to replay the CCTV footage.
They discovered that, when the AGM and his driver entered the office, the driver accidentally banged the AGM's briefcase against the guard's gun.
The guard did not have the safety catch on his rifle on, and due to this the bullet was accidentally discharged.
The bullet pierced the guard's skull, emerged, and then hit a wall clock, which stopped at 10:50 am.
The police have registered a case of negligence leading to death against the AGM's driver.
