The Blueline monster has struck again, killing one in the Capital on Tuesday. A speeding Blueline bus mowed down a 21-year-old youth at Najafgarh on Tuesday morning.
The accident took place near the Dinpur area when the deceased, Yogender Sharma, was walking alongside the road. Sharma was hit from behind by the bus plying on route number 578, between Nazafgarh and Safdarjung, and received severe head and body injuries.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
The driver of the bus fled from the spot, police said.
Priest crushed to death
In another incident, a 40-year-old priest was run over by a DTC bus in the afternoon, when it lost control after its brakes failed.
According to the police, the accident took place at around 2.30 pm in Sarai Rohilla when the driver of the bus plying on route number 234, between Nangloi and Nand Nagri, lost control and rammed into three to four vehicles before hitting the victim. The officials said the deceased, Vinod Parikh, was heading towards his home when the accident happened.
