The body of a Delhi property dealer was found floating in the Yamuna on Thursday evening. At around 5pm some people saw the corpse drifting around in the river near ITO. Soon the police arrived and a rescue team began attempts to retrieve the body but the process took more than an hour.
The body was found to be in semi-decayed state. Police officers found some visiting cards wrapped in a polythene in the pocket of the deceased. When they tried the mobile number, it was found to be switched off and nobody was picking up the landline.
Finally after sustained efforts for five hours, at around 10pm the body was identified as Satyapal Tuteja (45), a property dealer from Gandhiu00a0 Nagar. Tuteja had been missing for the past few days and a report to that effect had been filed in the local police station on June 28.u00a0
The police have informed the family members about the incident and the body has been sent for post mortem. "It seems like a case of suicide but the post mortem report will clear up the issue," said a police officer.
