The City and Industrial Development Corporation have finally released sale booklets for over 1,000 homes in Navi Mumbai on January 16. Interested buyers can now obtain information about the flats by buying the pamphlet-cum-form for Rs 525.
However, while submitting their application, buyers have to pay an earnest money deposit (EMD) equal to 10 per cent of the total value of the flat.

The booklets will be available on the ground floor at CIDCO Bhavan and Raigad Bhavan in CBD Belapur, 11th floor of Nirmal Bhavan at Nariman Point and all branches of Thane Janata Sahakari Bank (TJSB) in Maharashtra.
The homes will be divided into two categories - middle income groups and high income groups. Vivek Marathe, marketing manager, CIDCO, said, "There are a total of 1,224 homes, which include 802 MIG homes and 422 HIG homes. We are expecting a good response, as CIDCO flats have, so far, always received an overwhelming response from the public."
The homes differ in their sizes and cost (see box for further details). As approved by the CIDCO board, some apartments in this housing scheme are reserved for various categories as per the reservation policy of the government.
There are special reservations for certain categories like MLA/MLCs, Navi Mumbai journalists and project affected persons (PAP) of Navi Mumbai. The EMD, along with the application form, must be submitted by way of Demand Draft /Pay Order in favour of âCIDCO Ltd', payable at Navi Mumbai in any branch of TJSB Bank on or before February 20.
Allotment of flats in the scheme is through a computerised draw.
However, the lucky owners will not be able to get the keys to their homes before Diwali this year, claim CIDCO officials. They added that the chosen few who are allotted flats may have to wait till the year-end to move into their homes.
There is no facility for filling forms online; CIDCO has decided to collect all applications for the MIG and HIG flats through the physical medium. But, officials claimed that in case they go online with the forms for the economically weaker section (EWS) and LIG homes, which are around 3,590, they may set up kiosks where the interested applicants who are not computer savvy can come and fill up the forms.
