Hippie kitsch accessory designer Diana Linda has created a line of fair trade desi-style brocade boots you won't find anywhere else in the world
Her Juhu apartment stands testimony to her style -- eclectic, kitschy and bursting with colour. Her love for Bollywood is evident in the Hindi film-themed velvet bags and trunks she creates using collage, patchwork, decoupage and spray-painting. With a new line of "Indian boots" as she calls it, Italian accessory designer Diana Linda is romancing her love for brocade and bling.
Knee-high or ankle-length, zippered or buttoned, blingy or subtle -- you can take your pick from a variety of styles. Moreover, every piece is handmade and hand-decorated with specially selected materials and adornments and can be further customised according to client preferences.
The line is fair trade too; the boots are stitched, embroidered and embellished by women Juhu-based NGO Ojus Medical and the Damini Project, which aims for empowerment of underprivileged women in slums.
