A movie hall is preparing for an art film fest by spraying pesticide to rid its seats of bugs
A cinema in the heart of Bangalore is trying to kill bugs in preparation for a film festival opening this week.
The festival features four arthouse films, and opens on October 30. It will be on till November 5.
A source at Kailash cinema said, "They sprayed pesticide twice this week".
Three weeks ago, several journalists who went to watch a preview of Huchchi (starring Pooja Gandhi) walked out of the hall after they were bitten by the bugs in their seats.
Many standalone cinemas in Bangalore have a bug problem.
"We chose this hall because the rent is low," said director B Suresh, who works with Samudaya, the group organising the festival.
Chitra Samudaya, the new branch of theatre group Samudaya, has hired Kailash, managed by Ramoji Rao's Ushakiron Movies for this festival.
Music composer Hamsalekha will inaugurate the festival and poet Dr H S Venkatesha Murthy is the chief guest.
