Srinagar: The bodies of three youths were found on Monday in an apple orchard in north Kashmir's Baramulla district triggering protests in the area.
Agitated locals said the bodies bore bullet injuries and torture marks.
Clashes broke out between protestors and security forces in Sopore and Baramulla towns with the protestors blocking the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway at Pattan and Kreeri. The protests came after the bodies of the three youths, aged between 17 and 21, were found in an orchard in Shuru (Dangerpora) village of Pattan tehsil in the morning.
Protestors also forced shut the markets in Sopore and Baramulla as the news about the death of the three youths spread in the district.
"The bodies of three youths have been found in an apple orchard in Chour (Dangerpora) village in Baramulla district. They were aged between 17-21," a police officer told IANS.
Locals said none of the three youths had so far been identified.
The police officer said a probe was on to find the cause of the deaths.
