A 34-year-old businessman was brutally beaten to death by a group of unidentified assailants at a Kirti Nagar dhaba on Wednesday night.
Harmeet Singh, a resident of Vikaspuri in north Delhi, was returning home from his Mayapuri spare parts shop at around 10:30 pm when the incident occurred. He had stopped over at the Khalsa restaurant in Kirti Nagar to buy food.
Eyewitnesses said Singh had an altercation with some people at the eatery who were armed with sticks and rods.
They beat him badly, hitting Singh on the head several times. He was rushed to the nearby Central Hospital where he died of haemorrhage. Doctors who attended to him told MiD DAY that the haemorrhage was triggered by injuries to the head inflicted by a heavy article. The police have registered a case.
