Ameen Pasha says he was whisked away from Civil Hospital by Kolar MLA Y Sampagi's men and tortured for eight days
Tainted Kolar MLA Y Sampagi, who was recently booked in a bribery case, allegedly got one of the witnesses in the case kidnapped from the civil hospital and threatened him to withdraw the case.

Thirty-five-year-old Ameen Pasha, a butcher from BM Road, who was in captivity for a week, escaped from the kidnappers recently.u00a0

Eight days after he was allegedly kidnapped, Ameen escaped from the Scorpio car in which he was held, while his captors slept.
Ameen said he managed to get a lift and rushed to the Lokayukta office and narrated his ordeal. Ameen has been admitted to the Bowring hospital where his condition is said to be critical.

"They wanted us to withdraw the statement to weaken the case.
We have however decided against it despite threats made by Sampagi," said Hussain Mueen Farooq,u00a0 who was instrumental in getting Sampagi caught red handed accepting a bribe.
Additional Director General of police (Lokayukta) RK Dutta said, "Ameen was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Kolar.
He has alleged that he was assaulted and kidnapped by Sampagi. The IGP is verifying Ameen's statement."
