Terming the observations of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on coal block allocation as "disputable", Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Monday said these will be challenged in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and called upon the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to allow normal functioning of parliament.

Speaking to mediapersons after his statement in both houses of parliament, which was disrupted by BJP members in the Lok Sabha as well as the Rajya Sabha, the Prime Minister said he should be given an opportunity to speak in Parliament and to the public at large.
The prime minister said he was "sorry the two houses are not (being) allowed to function and BJP is determined to disrupt normal functioning of parliament".
"I wish to assure the country that we have a strong and credible case. The observations of the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) are disputable and they will be challenged when the matter comes before the PAC (Public Accounts Committee)," he said.
Manmohan Singh appealed to the opposition to allow parliament to function and "let the country judge where the truth lies".
The prime minister said he normally does not respond to motivated criticism directed at him.
"This is one occasion I ardently wish that I shall be given an opportunity to speak," he said.u00a0
