CBI arrests Ramrao Patil in 10-crore scam

Ramrao Tukaram Patil, who helped the CBI nab Sarabjot Singh, son of Buta Singh, chairman of the commission for SCs and STs on bribery charges earlier this month, was arrested yesterday for allegedly cheating civic workers of Nashik Municipal Corporation of Rs 10 crore.


Ramrao Tukaram Patil, who helped the CBI nab Sarabjot Singh, son of Buta Singh, chairman of the commission for SCs and STs on bribery charges earlier this month, was arrested yesterday for allegedly cheating civic workers of Nashik Municipal Corporation of Rs 10 crore.

Earlier, the district sessions court had rejected his application for anticipatory bail.

According to police sources, Patil had allegedly taken a loan of Rs 10 crore from an urban cooperative credit society in the names of these workers by making them sign blank papers.

On hearing about this, Buta Singh had urged them to file a police complaint in July.
