The Crime Control Act (CCA) was on Wednesday invoked against expelled RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, a day ahead of the polling in this Bihar's parliamentary constituency from where his mother Shanti Priya is in the fray as an Independent candidate.
"We have applied section 3 of the CCA against Pappu Yadav in view of elections in the constituency tomorrow," Superintendent of Police Nyer Hasnain Khan said.
Khan said under section 3 of the CCA, Yadav would have to report to the satisfaction of station house officer of Purnia police station twice a day, failing which, he would be externed from Purnia district limits.
"The SHO is required to report to superiors about Yadav's behaviour on a daily basis," he said.

Yadav, who is facing life-term in the CPI(M) MLA Ajit Sarkar murder case and is now on bail, is in his home town Purnia canvassing support for his mother who is locked in a virtual triangular fight with BJP's Udai Singh and LJP's Shankar Jha.
His wife Ranjit Ranjan is seeking a second term from adjoining Supaul Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket.
