CCI-ITF tennis: Top seed Vaishnavi beats Pranjala to title

Top seed Vaishnavi Peddi Reddy of India beat compatriot Pranjala Yadlapalli to claim the girls' singles title at the CCI-ITF Junior Boys' & Girls' U-18 tennis tournament recently


The 17-year-old Vaishnavi from Hyderabad encountered a strong challenge from her city mate, who is four years younger, before winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Meanwhile, Taipei's third seed Chih-Chun Tang warded off a spirited challenge from unseeded Indian Gravit Batra to claim the boy's singles title. Tang registered a 6-2, 6-7(4) 7-5 victory in a little over three hours.
