David Guetta: One Love
Rating: 4/5
For: Rs 395

David Guetta has the formula for a hit record down pat thrashing, dance-till-you-drop club beats and big names like Akon and Will.I.Am leading their vocals to suit his tunes. Hard-core House lovers may question his prowess and may even suggest he's sold his soul for commercial success, but Guetta surely doesn't care, because his record is giving birth to a genre we like calling Pop House.

It's something a non-electronica music lover could enjoy as well. The album starts with When Love Takes Over, which marks the comeback for the lesssuccessful Destiny's Child Kelly Rowlands, whose strong vocals carry through the groovy, dance number that will soon be a dance floor classic. We also loved Getting Over, which sounds a lot like Guetta's last big hit Love is Gone, and Sexy Bitch, which has Akon singing "She's nothing like a girl you've ever seen before. Nothing you can compare to your neighbourhood whore", and that's already topping charts all over the world.

There is also a mediocre remix of I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas, which Guetta produced; we like the original better.

Others that deserve a mention are I Wanne Go crazy and It's The Way You Love Me all-in-all, an album that could easily be the soundtrack of a reallife Gossip Girl situation. Just put on a mini, slip on the heels, and head out to paint the town red Guetta's got your back.
