Inspector Pradeep Desai of the CID said, "As soon as we were informed of the problem, we contacted Dimas Consultants Pvt Ltd who look after the security of the website. The site is now functional." Virendra Patil, chief software engineer, Dimas Consultants, said, "We inspected the system thoroughly and removed the malware.
There shouldn't be a problem now."
Desai, who handles the CID website, added, "Though the website was attacked, our investigation does not indicate any ulterior or destructive motive by an outsider. We have yet to ascertain the exact cause for the attack, but there is a possibility that it may have happened while uploading PDF files with a pen drive."
