CJI Kapadia wants clean judges

With the judiciary's image under a cloud due to corruption charges, Chief Justice S H Kapadiau00a0 released a statement, on Saturday at the fifth M C Setalvad memorial lecture in Delhi saying we need "clean men in black robes" and demanded that politicians refrain from protecting corrupt judges.

"We have to live by example. We need a clean man in black robes to uphold the independence and integrity
of the judiciary," the CJI said while cautioning the judges from inevitably ending up in the political arena.
