MiD DAY had on Wednesday reported the arrest of an illegal supplier of expensive foreign alcohol endorsed by the Bigg Boss star
The next time you offer to buy someone a drink, make sure you read the price tag on the bottle first. Earlier this week, Delhi police nabbed Ranjan Mandal, who supplied expensive foreign liquor to five-star hotels in the Capital, evading the payment of excise duty in the process. The recoveries that have been made have astounded the cops.

"Each liquor bottle is worth Rs 1 lakh and more. Minimum price of a bottle recovered from his possession is Rs 50,000. These were French-made liquor. Famous Hollywood star Pamela Anderson also endorses a champagne brand (Cristal) that was recovered from him," said a senior police official close to the investigation.
The official said that a Toyota car was also seized during police raid that was used for the smuggling of liquor.
"Ranjan Mandal was caught with foreign brand liquor that he allegedly supplies in Delhi-based five star holes. His employer Aman Dal lives in S block of Okhla Industrial area. Ranjan did not pay excise duty on the alcohol recovered from him," said the official.
"This is first time in the Capital when such expensive liquor has been seized from someone. One glass of this champagne is sold at Rs 15 to 25000 at five-star hotels in Delhi. We are interrogating Ranjan to find out where he delivered the consignment. We will also call his employer for questioning," added the officer.
