Manha means 'manna' from heaven in Arabic. If you know your Bible stories, you'd know it's the food that fell from the skies when people were starving.

The grains of food would be left on the ground with the dew, and melt away as the dew evaporated.

It was a blessing from the gods to keep mankind alive. But the new Andheri eatery by the same name, is far from a blessing for foodies.

The tiny joint promises 'delicious Arabic and Moghlai food', but you open the menu to find a strange mix of Indian and Chinese, with some Moghlai and pizzas thrown in.

With orange walls, cane sofas and glass-topped tables, this one looks more like your neighbourhood coffee shop than a stop for authentic Hummus.

But let's focus on the positives. The Chicken Shawarma (Rs 75) was filling; in fact it ruined dinner for us. Next up was the Open Veg Falafel (Rs 110); uninteresting but palatable.

Was the Mutton Seekh Kebab (Rs 120) so forgettable, they decided not to bill us for it? Propreitor Rauf Khan recommended the Mutton Biryani (Rs 150), which we thought was average.

Caramel Custard (Rs 30) for a change of taste, was a good decision.
