Celebrated author Chetan Bhagat, who has time and again landed in trouble for his controversial statements, once again faced Twitter backlash on Friday for questioning what historians do
Author Chetan Bhagat was trolled by Twitterati after he posted an unsavoury tweet on historians returning their awards protesting the 'growing intolerance' in the country.
His tweet read -
He also tweeted about his 'ignorance' about the number of historians in the country.
This was enough for the Twitterati who 'gave it back' to the author for his tweets. here is how they retorted.
Bhagat 'joke' backfired, but he tried to take on the trolls head on by blaming the foreign media for 'loving poor backward Indians' stories.
Unhappy with all the unwanted attention, but wanting to have the last word, he signed off with another jibe.
This is not the first time the author, who also is a columnist, social critic and a dance show judge, been trolled for a controversial comment on Twitter.
Chetan had recently come up with a tweet about writers returning their Sahitya Akademi awards. "Ok so am I also supposed to return my Sahitya Academy award? Oh wait. Haven't got it yet, he tweeted.
This got him a gem of a reply from Sandeep Panikkal, "@chetan_bhagat If you get a Sahitya Academy award I will return my ration card in protest," Panikkal tweeted.
