In a bid to pacify a scuffle between cousin brothers, a youth lost his life on Saturday night. He was bludgeoned to death by his three cousins in a bungalow at 4 Janpath where Shivraj Patil, the ex-union minister of home affairs used to live.
Brothers arrested Police said that they have arrested the three accused. The deceased, Ramesh, who was a native of Bihar, used to live with his four cousin brothers Ranjeet, Kanhaiya, Anmol and Jitender in the servant quarters attached with the bungalow.u00a0
"All the four were drinking liquor on Saturday night. Ranjeet, Kanhaiya and Anmol demanded Rs 100 from Jitender for cigarettes and other food items. When he denied, the trio beat him up. Ramesh intervened and pacified them. Meanwhile, Jitender called the police and the four were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for medical tests," said the police.
However, after going back home from the hospital, Jitender fled from the place. The three accused went to Ramesh's room while he was asleep and attacked him.
"The trio in a fit of rage attacked him with wooden sticks and sharp-edged weapons. Ramesh suffered severe injuries all over his body and was taken to RML hospital where he succumbed to the injuries," said the police.
An FIR of murder was registered at Tughlak Road Police station in this respect. Police said that Jitender who is still missing is an eyewitness in the incident.
Body found
A youth was found dead with severe head injuries near Nangloi Metro station in west Delhi on Sunday afternoon. DCP (west) V Ranganathan said the body is yet to be identified.
"Nothing significant has been recovered from the deceased. His body was found next to a taxi stand near the Nangloi Metro station. We can't say at the moment if it is a murder or not," said the DCP.
