A city builder accused of assaulting two journalists moved the Bombay High Court after the Sessions Court rejected his anticipatory bail application. The High Court is likely to hear Anil Seolekar 's plea today.

The lower court had given him time to file appeal till December 24, directing police not to arrest him till then.

Police have registered a case of attempt to murder against Seolekar and seven others for assaulting Yogesh Kute, a senior reporter with Marathi daily Sakal (also the President of Pune Union of Working Journalists) and his colleague Sandeep Jagdale. The incident took place on December 12, when Kute and Jagdale had gone to Seolekar's residence to get his reaction to a report that had earlier appeared in the newspaper. The report referred to allegations of cheating against Seolekar, and infuriated by it, he allegedly assaulted Kute and Jagdale when they went to his house.
