Disproportionate mixture of dust and tar used to resurface roads makes the stretches at Lal Mahal area, Kumathekar and Shivaji Road sticky, thereby causing inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists

The road department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had blamed incessant rains for the bad condition of city roads, and had promised that repair work will be carried out as soon as the rains stop.

"Ideally, before asphalting the roads, the contractors are expected to have a detailed map of underground cables, water lines etc. Unfortunately, neither the contractor, nor PMC cares about it," alleged Vijay Kumbhar, a RTI activist said.
