Clouds but no rain in Delhi, says weather office

The weather office forecast a cloudy warm day for Delhi Thursday but said no rain was expected.

"We had a clear sky in the morning. It may get cloudy in the afternoon and evening but no rain is expected. The day will be warm. The minimum recorded for today (Wednesday) was 26.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above average for the season," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The daytime temperature are likely to soar to the 40 degrees Celsius mark.

The maximum temperature on Wednesday was 40.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees above average while the minimum was recorded at 27.5 degrees four notches above average, the met department said.
