Armed with a spy camera dexterously disguised as a button, Dr Inderjit Singh Bakshi went into the conference room strategically seated himself in a chair from where he could get a good view of his "detractors".
No, Dr Bakshi is no dictator or a corporate honcho, but the Principal of the Delhi University's Dyal Singh College.

Peeved over what he claims ruckus created by teachers in the staff council meeting, Bakshi wanted to record and expose his colleagues "for the welfare of the insitution".
However, Bakshi's antics were exposed when a suspecting teacher asked him about the pen-hole camera. Bakshi denied anything fishy but the staff got suspicious after his evasive reply and "recovered" the camera from him.
Alleging that the teachers manhandled him Bakshi said, "Since October 2007 the college is having problems. Certain sections among the teachers keep on creating problems and disturb the proceedings of the meeting. Due to this we were unable to discuss any issues. I wanted to bring out the truth and whatever I was doing was for the welfare of the college only."
But, the teachers are very upset over their own head spying on them.
The Dyal Singh College Teacher's Association (DSCTA) has taken very the breach of conduct on the part of the custodian of the college very seriously and has demanded outright sacking of the principal. A resolution to this effect was passed and a copy has been sent to the various authorities, including the Chairman of the College, Vice-Chancellor and Director, South Campus.
The DSCTA has requested the authorities concerned to prosecute Bakshi for the "criminal offence" under the relevant sections of the IPC.
C Sadasiva, President of DSCTA said, "The Principal actually wanted to collect evidence against teachers who have cornered him in his involvement in cases ranging from provident fund bungling, illegal felling of trees and issues related to the college land and property."
After being exposed, Bakshi issued a notice to one of the teachers asking him to return his "camera pen".
