Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday said notices are being issued to certain unauthorised colonies that had managed to collect provisional regularisation certificates from the government without having requisite qualifications. "We are issuing notices to certain colonies," Dikshit said, replying to a question on the issue.

Senior officials said the government was in the process of scrutinising details of colonies that did not meet mandatory eligibility criteria of having 50 per cent built-up areas.

They said the government has identified over 100 colonies that do not meet the prescribed conditions for regularisation. Delhi government had issued provisional regularisation certificates to 1,639 unauthorised colonies just before Assembly polls in 2008 and has now started the process to regularise them.

The Urban Development department, which was directed by Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna and Dikshit to probe the allegations of irregularities in handing over the certificates, has submitted its report in which it mentioned flouting of norms by resident welfare associations of four colonies.

The Opposition (BJP) has been mounting attacks on the government alleging that "non-existent" colonies were issued provisional regularisation certificates, violating the prescribed norms. BJP has demanded a CBI probe into the allegations.
