These included a sub inspector who was trapped by the Lokayukta while asking for a bribe and sexual favours from a woman.

Bidari said that inspector Manjunath Babu of Vivekanagar police station was suspended following a raid by Central Crime Branch (CCB) investigators on a gambling den in his jurisdiction.

CCB officials had raided a commercial complex in Viveka Nagar on the tip-off that a shop was running the banned lottery.

Officials recovered a large sum of money and booked the shop owner, and also found lapse on part of Babu. Another police inspector who was suspended is Narasimha Reddy for being late in registering complaint of a victim, Bidari said.

Siddapura Sub Inspector Lakshman Gowda has also been suspended. He was held by the Lokayukta police while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a woman at a hotel in Jayanagar in October.

The woman had registered a dowry harassment complaint in Siddapura police station against her son-in-law. Gowda reportedly demanded Rs 5,000 bribe and also asked sexual favours from her.
