Two dozen vehicles damaged, RAF deployed in Sadar Bazar area
More than two dozen vehicles were damaged when a mob went berserk in Sadar Bazar area in North Delhi after news came in that a girl of a particular community had eloped with boy of another community.

A police officer on condition of anonymity said both the boy and the girl are students and reside in the same area. Sources said as the news of couple's elopement came in, people from the neighbourhood started gathering in the main market to protest against the act.
"The crowd got divided into two groups and started pelted stones and cold drink bottles at each other. There were even rumours that acid bottles were being thrown. Some people fired in air and tried to set shops on fire to create panic. The mob then went on rampage and vandalised the vehicles. The police and Raid Action Force teams were sent to
the spot to control the situation," said a senior police official.u00a0 Senior police officers too rushed to the spot.
DCP (north) Sunder Singh Yadav said that police had detained a few persons for indulging in vandalism in the area. All shops in the area were shut down, sources said, adding the incident occurred in Kasabpura near Idgah in Sadar Bazaar area.
