Two DMRC employees suspended, CISF orders departmental inquiry
Two Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) employees were suspended after they and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel allegedly assaulted a commuter at a Metro station.

The incident occurred at Karkardooma Metro Station on Wednesday night when the commuter, an engineer, hadu00a0 an argument with DMRC employees for not providing him with proper change on purchase of the ticket. A complaint in this regard was also sent to Crime Branch of the Delhi police.
The police said the commuter SK Jain works with a Noida based firm. "On Wednesday, he went to purchase a ticket for Karkardooma at Akshardham Metro station. He gave a Rs 500 note to the DMRC employee at the ticket counter. However, instead of giving him a token of Rs 15 (fare up to Karkardooma), the employee gave him a smart card as he did not have the change.
Jain was told that he can use the card and once he reaches his destination, he can hand it over to customer care official there and get his money," said a police official.
Jain reached Karkardooma station at around 7:15 pm and gave the smart card to a customer care official to get back his money. "Jain alleged that the official asked him to come another day to take the cash. On this, Jain is believed to have barged inside the cabin and entered into an argument with the official," said the police.
The police official said Jain further alleged that two CISF personnel also came inside the cabin and took him to security room where he was beaten up. "He is undergoing treatment at Deepak Memorial Hospital. We are waiting for his medical report to file a case," said the police official.
The DMRC official spokesman admitted that an altercation had taken place between customer care staff and the complainant. He however, said the complainant had hurled abuses which aggrav- ated the situation and led to physical confrontation between the passenger and theu00a0 staff. "However, DMRC suspended the customer care staffer. The station controller on duty was also suspended as he too got involved in the incident. We have ordered an inquiry , said," Anuj Dayal, DMRC spokesman. CISF spokesman Rohit Katiyar said that a departmental inquiry was on in this regard and action would be taken against the guards if found guilty.
