"We decided to forget the past and fight the six legislative council polls from the local bodies' constituencies with NCP. However our friends are not ready to give up their old habits. If this continues, we will have to chart out our future course of action," Thakre said at a party meeting in Tilak Bhavan here.u00a0
Terming the Congress' defeats in Chandrapur and Amravati local bodies seats as a "very bad experience", Chavan said, "The party will take a decision on this very soon and would discuss the issue at the party level as well".
"Congress was in alliance with the NCP due to circumstances. If we want these circumstances to change, all party workers need to sink their own differences and work for strengthening the party at the grassroots," Thakre said.
He further said a "chintan baithak" will be organised soon to discuss the party's future political strategy. Thakre also said that meetings will be held at the district and taluka levels to motivate party workers and he will undertake a tour to this effect along with Chavan from August-September onwards.
