When asked about the incident, Shinde said, "I had returnedhome after finishing my work at the police station. After freshening up, I was sitting at the dining table while my wife was in
the kitchen.
I was unloading the pistol, as has been my habit for several years. When I removed the magazine from the pistol, I noticed that a bullet was missing. While I was trying to dislodge the bullet, which was stuck inside, the gun went off and I was hit on my thigh. The bullet went through my leg, bounced off the floor and hit the LCD TV before entering into the sofa bed. My feet also got wounded as some splinters of the floor tile also hit me."
"Hearing the loud noise, my wife came running out of the kitchen while my children also woke up. I used a tourniquet on my thigh to stop the bleeding. We informed the doctor over the telephone and my son took me to the hospital for treatment," the cop said.u00a0
