Death toll in the violence has touched 29; police has registered 45 cases against the illegal occupants
Mathura: The death toll in the clashes between the police and encroachers of Jawahar Bagh rose to 29 after two more persons succumbed to their injuries, even as police registered 45 cases against the illegal occupants.

Sources said more arrests are likely, as police teams are trying to ascertain and nab the accomplices of Ram Vriksh Yadav, the chief of Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrahi cult, who were providing financial support and arms to him.
An unidentified encroacher died during treatment in the district hospital here and one Pinakoo, resident of Azamgarh, succumbed to his injuries at the SN Medical College in Agra, taking the death toll to 29, Chief Medical Officer Vivek Mishra said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh said 45 cases have been registered against the encroachers in which 3,000 persons have made the accused.
BJP men booked
BJP workers were booked yesterday for holding an unlawful protest in connection with the Mathura incident. "An FIR has been registered against more than 50 BJP workers on a compliant field by Samajwadi Party (SP) leader, Mahmood Akhtar from Sambhal, for gathering unlawfully to protest at Malviya Chowk," ASP Kamlesh Dixit said.
Kejriwal condoles death
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal yesterday spoke to the family of SHO Santosh Yadav, killed in the Friday's clashes, and conveyed his condolences. "He [Kejriwal] talked to the brother of Yadav over the phone and conveyed his condolences. He also offered help," said a senior bureaucrat.
