Inspector Srinivas of Malleshwaram police station, where the complaint was lodged, said, "Though the complaint was initially registered under Crime Miscellaneous, we had to discard it as it wasn't fit for investigation. Besides, the complaint was filed by a third party who had witnessed the incident on TV."
He added that as the driver didn't file the complaint, there was nothing cognizable.
Responding to the motive behind filing the complaint, Srinivas said that the person must have wanted to exploit the opportunity to get media attention.
