After Sourabh Behra visited Blue Waves Lounge Bar and was found dead on the terrace of the adjacent building four floors below, his family alleged a cop cover-up in the case.

To add the family's frustration and misery, the Cubbon Park police refused to tie up the loose ends and instead decided to shut the case without a proper investigation.

However, an eyewitness has come forward with facts of what unfolded on that fateful night and the pressure is now on the cops to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Ugly turn

The eyewitness, on condition of anonymity, said that Sourabh was at the bar that night and things took an ugly turn and he was unceremoniously ushered out of the establishment by the bouncers.

"That night Sourabh had come alone and he picked a fight with a few people there. The bouncers were called in and the matter turned physical. We left the place, but the next thing we heard was that he was dead," said the eyewitness.

Furthermore, the establishment remained closed for the next few days, which has possibly added some credibility to the eyewitness's version.

Meanwhile, Inspector Badrinath, Cubbon Park police station, chose to remain silent on the issue when questioned, while another senior official from the same station said, "The case is being investigated and we are looking at all possible angles."

Trigger unknown?
As if the fortify the anonymous witness's revelations, a former employee of the pub confirmed that a fight did occur, but seemed hesitant to reveal what triggered it.

The pub has decided to come out in its own defence and maintains that no fight took place on the night Sourabh died. "We were the ones who informed the cops about this incident.

There was no fight that took place that night. We were closed the next day as a sign of respect to the youth who lost his life at such a tender age," said Anand, manager, Blue Waves Lounge Bar.

While Sourabh's family and friends await justice, they are constantly in talks with the police. "We are trying to help the cops in all possible ways and hopefully the truth behind our friend's death would be revealed soon," said V Mehta, Sourabh's friend.
