Cops rescue 30 women forced into flesh trade from Hinjewadi house

Acting on a tip-off, the Hinjewadi police raided an isolated farmhouse in Sus-Road area and rescued 30 women who were forced into prostitution. According to unconfirmed reports, the bungalow where the women were housed belonged to relatives of NCP Corporator from the Baner area.

NCP corporator Babu Chandere told MiD DAY that his political opponents were trying to tarnish his name and the owners of the bungalow were not his relatives. Chandere said he had lodged NC against one Vishal and Khatri who tried to malign his name by announcing him as the owner of bungalow which had housed the 30 women.

The women were bought to the city from various places including Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The police have also arrested a person named Ajit Nandala Ghosh for making a living on the income of the 30 women.

Ghosh had recently paid Rs 20 lakh to Santosh and Sachin Chandere to buy the property owned by them, said the Hinjewadi police. "The transaction to buy the property owned by Chandere duo is yet to be completed," said Police Inspector Ganpat Madgulkar.

Madgulkar said when we raided the bungalow the women all aged between 22 to 30 years claimed that they were working in nearby companies surrounding the IT park. "Later, they confessed they were brought to the city for flesh trade," he said.
