Boss matters are big on BPO executives' mindspace, if the walls at Giffy are anything to go by. The new all-day Malad restaurant has dedicated the biggest wall to a life-size sketch enlightening the diners on "what makes your boss happy". Note-taking is highly recommended; eating out is not.u00a0

But eat out at this place you should, even if ordering in and eating at your desk feels more convenient, even if you don't have company to break bread with. This red-and-white all-day cafe has a shelf lined with books (Chetan Bhagat's latest 2 States rubs shoulders with Dean Koontz) you can flip through while sipping on Cranberry Kiss; a sweet orangey drink with coconut cream, cranberry, lime and sprite.
If your tastebuds are adventurous, try Iced Coffee (Rs 49). We ordered one assuming a regular cold coffee, and were pleasantly surprised with a coffee version of Iced Tea. A few sips down, we acquired a taste for it, and vouched to return for more. Cold coffee is listed as Cafe Frappe along with tea and infusions. Ask for more, and the black-uniformed guys at the counter will stir up mocktails with off-the-menu combinations.u00a0u00a0
If you can ignore the uncoordinated service, this is a great place to have your fill on low-cost chow. With complete meals priced at Rs 70 to Rs 99, blended shakes at Rs 59, main course dishes not exceeding Rs 60 and coffees under Rs 50, a stopover here is easy on the wallet. You can choose the ingredients that go into the Giffy Meals, each paired with a cola.
We chose rice with chicken and assorted veggies cooked in soya garlic sauce for our sumptuous Asian Stir Fry (Rs 99) and Penne with Creamy Pesto Sauce and Garlic Bread for the pasta meal (Rs 79). Avoid the tepid spaghetti-Arabiatta combo.u00a0u00a0
Big sellers with fellow diners were the Kebab Meal (Dal Makhani and Roomali Roti), Biryani meal and Oriental meal. What the Peshawari Seekh (Rs 89) lacked in juice, the aromatic Murg ke Soole (marinated tender chicken finished in a tandoor) made up in taste.u00a0
