The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) has asked the University administration to rectify the inherent flaws in its new admission process. The Union has put forward a list of demands which they claim can help solve such problems and have said they would go on 'fast unto death' if their demands are not met.
The student leadersu00a0 want the University to provide forms online in the new admission process,u00a0 increase number of seats in all colleges, decentralised sports quota admissions, and return DUSU's office to it.
"We have made these demands in a formal letter submitted to both the VC and the Proctor's office. If these demands are not met latest by April 18, we will go on an indefinite hunger strike," said Jitender Chaudhry, DUSU president.

On Wednesday, a group of IIT alumni from Rajasthan sat on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The group is led by Varun Arya, an alumnus of IIT Delhi.u00a0 In 1999, Arya hadu00a0 decided to set up an educational institute under Marwar Education Foundation (MEF) in Rajasthan. For this, the Foundation decided to purchase 94.4 acre of land. Though they say they have made the payment for the same, the state government has still not allocated the land to them. "We are on an indefinite strike since morning to fight against the corruption. The government has told us they want 40 percent of the land for their official use. But we have refused to accept it," said Arya.
