Travelling ticketless wasn't their only crime. This gang of dacoits targeted unsuspecting commuters on moving trains and made off with cash and valuables. Delhi police claims to have arrested three of these criminals and recovered some looted articles from them.

The incident took place on the 8th of February when some passengers informed UP police that they were travelling on Garib Nawaz Express and had boarded from old Delhi railway station the same evening. Soon after the train started moving, 7 to 8 persons stood up with knives and broken beer bottles. They began abusing, beating and threatening commuters.

"The dacoits looted about Rs 56,000 in cash, five mobile phones and gold jewellery articles from seventeen passengers and got down before Shahdara railway station as the train slowed down," said a Delhi police official.
