Cops sleeping over 10 unclaimed corpses in two weeks

They are getting a body, almost every day, but the police in the satellite town of Noida are yet to smell a rat.
Most of the 14 bodies that the Noida police found in the last two weeks were from near the Delhi-Noida, Noida-Ghaziabad, Noida-Greater Noida borders and if one goes by the cops' version of the story are "unclaimed and unidentified".

When MiD DAY asked a senior police official that if they did not see anything fishy in such a sudden rise in the number of "unclaimed" bodies, he said these are mostly "mentally deranged people or beggars".

Maximum five bodies were found within the jurisdiction of Sector 20 police station, four in Sector 58 and three from area adjacent to national highway 24.

What further establish a conspiracy theory are the police's determined efforts to prove that a body found hanging from a tree in Nithari last Wednesday was a case of suicide. The man on the noose was a complete stranger in the area and yet no proper investigation was launched into the case.

Another cases that raises eyebrows was of a badly bruised body found near Maamur intersection. The police claimed it was of a beggar.

The Noida police are also in complete dark over a male skeleton recovered from phase II area about which the cops have no clue.

The Other Side

Superintendent of Police (City) Ashok Tripathi said, "We follow due procedure whenever an unclaimed dead body is found. First we try to talk to the locals and then circulate the photo in the all the police stations to gather more information. We also upload their photographs on our website."
