Director speak

"When I made Rang de Basanti, I did not expect it to turn into an inspiration for youngsters. The same goes for Delhi 6," said director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Visibly excited over his mega venture, the director said that the film is about "seeing normal people on the screen". Veterans like Waheeda Rehman and Prem Chopra mingled freely with fans and media.

What's in a name?

Lots actually if you have one called 'Gobar'. Yes, this is exactly what Atul Kulkarni's character in the film is called. Seen in an all new look the actor exclaimed,u00a0 "I had earlier shaved off my moustache only to realize later that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra wanted me to keep them.

Finally, we zeroed down on this look which I guess looks rather interesting". Also seen with the cast was Kunal Kapoor, who does not star in the film but was there "to support Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and the entire cast". Meanwhile, Delhi girl Aditi Rao who looked smashing in a Red sari was more than relieved to have finally done a film in her "mother language" after her stint with Tollywood.

Delhi Connection

Sonam Kapoor, who seemed to have been inspired by Rekha's look gushed that Delhi is very close to her heart. "I have lived in Delhi for quite some time and I am a Delhiite in more ways than one.

Meanwhile, Abhishekh Bachchan who looked dapper in a black suit exclaimed that he plays a "New Yorker" in the film who comes to Delhi and "sees the tradition and culture". Anil Kapoor was also there to cheer daughter Sonam Kapoor. He, however, was too reclusive to talk to the media. Slumdog effect Anil?
