Denied dinner, girl commits suicide

Enraged over a petty issue, an 11-year-old girl, Vinisha allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her residence in Ambedkar Nagar area of southeast district on Sunday night.

The incident came to Sunday night at around 8.30 pm at 6/183, Dakshinpuri area in Ambedkar Nagar.

The deceased was found hanging from a ceiling fan. "She was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her house by her family members. No suicide note was recovered from her possession," said a police official.

The deceased's father works as a private security guard. The girl was studying in a government school in class III.

"The deceased and her younger brother had gone to their maternal grandmother's house, where her brother was given some eatables, but the girl was perhaps neglected.

This enraged her and she came to her home and hung herself from the fan in her bedroom," said the official.
