Maharashtra government will provide houses to all police personnel in the state in the next four years, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said today


Mumbai: Maharashtra government will provide houses to all police personnel in the state in the next four years, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said today.

All police personnel will be provided houses in the next four years, he said, speaking at "Umang", an annual cultural programme of Mumbai Police, organsied at the Mahalaxmi Race Course.

The government has already implemented its assurance of compensating policemen whose holidays were cancelled due to bandobast duty (security arrangements on special occasions), said Fadnavis who also holds the Home portfolio.

Those present at the event included Mumbai Police Commissioner Ahmed Javed, other police officers and personnel accompanied by their families.

Bollywood celebrities Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Shilpa Shetty, among others, were also in attendance.

Singer Mika Singh donated a sum of Rs 5 lakh for welfare activities of Mumbai Police.

Fadnavis also released a calendar on Mumbai Police on the occasion.
