Had filed a case against lover when he refused to tie the knot after husband left her
A woman has reportedly decided to marry her lover after accusing him of rape. Her husband had divorced her for eloping with the paramour. The incident has been reported from Khayala area of west Delhi.
A senior police officer said that Junaid Khan had been earlier arrested after the woman Rehana (name changed) had filed an FIR of rape against him.
"Junaid Khan and Rehana are both residents of Raghubir Nagar area. They were in love and wanted to marry each other but their family members were against the match. When Rehana's relatives came to know about their love affair they got Rehana married. But Junaid started going to meet Rehana at her husband's house. He (Junaid) again proposed marriage to her. Rehana eloped with him," said a police officer.
The officer said that Junaid and Rehana lived together as man and wife for a month but after that Junaid left, refusing to marry her. Rehana then approached the police and lodged an FIR of rape against him. Junaid was arrested on the basis of allegations made by Rehana.
But the story again took a sudden turn when Rehana's husband divorced her for eloping with the ex-boyfriend.
"Rehana then again approached Junaid for a compromise. Now she has turned hostile and wants to marry him.
The case has puzzled us. We first arrested Junaid and now Rehana says he is a nice guy," said the police official.
