The accused rammed his Ford Fiesta into the victim's Maruti
A drunken engineering student driving a Ford Fiesta car killed an electrician of the PWD after crashing into his Maruti car late on Monday night. Two others were injured in the mishap. The incident occurred near Sai Baba temple in Najafgarh area of southwest Delhi.
"Vinmar was driving his Ford Fiesta in an inebriated condition. He was going at a high speed due to which he lost control over the vehicle. His car first hit an electric pole, crossed over a divider, rammed into the victim's Maruti car and then overturned before coming to a stop. K K Sharma the PWD electrician who was driving the Maruti was killed on the spot while the two co-passengers suffered severe injuries," said a senior police officer.
The officer said that Vinmar was completely drunk and wasn't even in a position to talk to the police. He too sustained severe injuries as he got crushed underneath the overturned Fiesta car. He along with the two others injured were rushed to Deen Dayal Updhyay Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
Police said that Vinmar recently completed his B Tech from a renowned institute. K K Sharma, the deceased, lived in R K Puram area while the accused reportedly lives in sector 9 of Rohini.
"Vinmar was travelling along with two friends who fled from the spot after his car overturned," added the police officer.
