The central crime branch sleuths today busted an edible oil racket and arrested five persons for adulterating cheap oil and selling them under various brands.
On a tip off, a team of officials raided Venus Trading Company at Pette Chennappa Industrial Estate inu00a0Kamakshipalya.
The police found eight big tankers, three packing units and raw materials like polythene covers, plastic cans, cardboard box and found spurious edible oil prepared in the names of Venus Gold Palm, Sunny Soyabean, Sun Thejas Soyabean, Amulya Jinjali, Sun Punch Sunflower, Venus Om Ground nut, Sun Shawar Soyabean, Venus Castar.
Twelve oil tanks containing 16,800 liters of soyabean oil, 2,795 liters of palm oil, 8,300 liters of cotton oil, 10,660 liters of rice bran Oil, 3,000 liters of groundnut oil, 3,920 liters of gingili oil, 1,200 liters of castor oil, 1,100 liters of sunflower oil, 2065 cartoon Boxes, 114 Tin and cash of Rs. 37,000, all valued Rs 50 lakhs, were seized.
