Police said that the accused identified as Rajesh Kumar stabbed the victim to death after he refused to give him his money and ATM card. Rajesh Kumar was arrested from his hometown Aligarh.u00a0

"The deceased identified as Anand Raut was a native of Indore in MP. He came to Delhi on June 25 along with his friend Mahesh to appear in an entrance exam of BHEL. On the way he met the accused Rajesh in a train in at the Ujjain railway station. Rajesh befriended Anand. The accused came to Delhi along with them.

"The accused thought that Anand had a lot of money. He took him to New Usmanpur area and asked him to hand over all his valuables and ATM and credit card. But the victim refused to comply. A fight ensued between them. Rajesh took out a sharp edged weapon and slit the victim's throat. Anand died on the spot while the accused fled after looting around Rs 2000 and ATM and credit card from him," said the police official.
