The hub: The computer market at Nehru place, where CDs containing
data of individuals and organisations are sold openly.
"The lady simply asked for our requirements and disconnected. Within ten minutes I got a call from another number, with the caller speaking in a very refined language. He greeted me with my name. I was surprised," said 29-year-old Prashant.
When Prashant asked how the caller knew his name, he quickly revealed other details such as age, profession, company's name, address and email id. "I was completely shocked. It was one thing which I never expected to hear from a person belonging to an escort agency. He also revealed that he has a picture of mine opened on his computer."
Prashant decided to cancel his programme for the night. However he inquisitively asked the caller about how he managed to get the details.
"We have bought the database from Nehru Place where it was being sold openly. We have a database of 50,000 such potential clients who we keep calling and sending messages. Out of fifty potentials we manage to find 5-6 customers.
We have hired 2 people just for making calls and messaging. In short we work as an outbound call centre," revealed the pimp. The agent revealed they send out 700 to 1,000 SMSes a day from the list of working professionals available with them.
