Not only that, police has also misspelt his name, claims the 2008 cash-for-vote scam accused
Even though he describes Delhi police as "scapegoats", cash-for-vote scam accused Suhail Hindustani is not very happy about the reckless blunder that was reportedly committed by the cops when they mentioned 'Hindu' as his religion in the FIR. Delhi police's Crime Branch is investigating the scam.

Suhail Hindustani is alleged to be the middleman in the 2008 scam. Speaking to MiD DAY, Hindustani, in his first interview since he came out of jail, said, "I was shocked to see the FIR lodged by Delhi police, in which they have mentioned Hindu as my religion. Even though I am secular, it is really reckless on their part."
Humble Hindustani
"Delhi police was under so much pressure after the court's order that they miswrote my religion in the FIR. Not only that, they mis-spelt my name and my father's name." Confirming the mistake, Hindustani's counsel Subhash said, "They have changed the religion in the FIR (14/09) but it wouldn't affect the probe as the charge-sheet has been filed."
His Tihar experience
Hindustani, meanwhile, shared his experiences in Tihar Jail, where he was kept for four months before coming out on bail on November 16. "I met A Raja a few times and found him really sad. He is of the opinion that he is not the real culprit in the 2G scam. Besides, people seldom used to come to visit him. Only TR Baalu (Lok Sabha member) used to come sometimes."
About Amar Singh, he said, "Personally, he is a very nice man. As he is unwell, if he asks me to give blood to him, I will be there. However, he is telling lies." Pointing fingers at Congress, he said, "Anyone who thinks people who are in jail are corrupt should spend sometime in there." On 2G scam-accused Shahid and Asif Balwa, he said, "As they are of corporate background, they were not able to connect to people like me."
He added, "When Arvind Kejriwal and other civil society members came to jail, they promised they will help us via legal aid but they have not even spoken to me since I have come out." On contesting next general elections, Hindustani said, "If the party wants me to fight elections I will. I will not go out of my way to do that."
