WHAT's ON sauntered into a store that sells funky decorative items and wished to buy everything on display Lasting Impressions at Koregaon Park.
If you stroll down Koregaon Park, it's hard to miss a store sign etched on a wooden log that reads "Lasting Impressions". When curiosity gets the better of you and you enter, you see a tiny store offering some interesting home du00c3u00a9cor items including garden artefacts and planters that resemble wishing wells, artificial plants, handicrafts, wall hangings and wind chimes. The shop is a hit with foreigners residing in the area and it's not hard to figure out why.
Ambience: The store has an organised feel to it and there are glass shelves brimming with numerous items. As you browse through them, you wish you could buy them all. They have an entire section dedicated to candles and candle holders and stock items from far-flung places like Thailand, Malaysia and England. Choose as you pick from Goan pottery, terracotta statues, designer candles, suncatchers and other ideal gifts. All the items are hand-picked and sourced from across the globe.
We liked: A pair of Garden Toads (Rs 150 each) made of ceramic and painted in fluorescent and dark green colours very eye-catching. There were some very beautiful suncatchers (Rs 180) in various hues and meant to be hung on windows. They absorb sunlight and brighten up your home with flashes of light. The Garden Mushroom (Rs 1,600) was lightweight, water-proof and can be placed on ground. They also offer a Calling Bell (Rs 850), which can be attached on the door to give an electricity-free calling service. Do not miss the ceramic candle holder (Rs 320), which is moulded in the form of a mother and child.
