Dense fog will continue to haunt travellers to and from the national capital, according to the Meterological Department.
However, it predicted a progressive decline in the intensity and duration of fog with a likely dip in the minimum temperature by three to four degrees.
Fog has played havoc with the air and train schedules throwing transport services out of the gear.
On Thursday, for the fourth consecutive day, the capital woke up to a cold morning. The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.7 degrees Celsius while the maximum was 17.7 degrees Celsius.
As much of northern India is affected by fog most of the trains are running well behind schedule. According to an airport official, flights on an average are delayed by an hour.
The Met department forecast says the maximum and minimum for tomorrowu00a0 will be around 17 and 8 degrees Celsius, while the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF) predicts fog in the morning and partly cloudy sky towards evening. Maximum temperature will be around 17 degrees and minimum around 8.
"The maximum daytime temperatures have already dropped to 16 degrees Celsius from 20.8 degree Celsius in just two days, the chill is still setting in," a Met official said.
