The name Forgetful Elephant is part of the treasured tradition of the English. Be it the Elusive Camel, Pig & Whistle or The Goat & Tricycle. Since elephants can remember, so, Forgetful Elephant is meant for all those exhausted souls, who would love to forget the hectic day and chillax with fine food and drinks.

For bookworms
As we climbed up a narrow flight of stairs, the bistro seemed likeu00a0 a place cozy enough for shoppers or the casual diners. Spread across three levels, it's a book lovers' paradise where one can enjoy a cup of coffee while reading a book and can even take it home since it hasu00a0 au00a0 'Take a book-leave a book' system. Or one can even indulge in goof food and drink while gazing at the mock fireplace with a huge aquarium, which is amidst big floral-printed sofas. The dark wood tables, green leather-back chairs, silver-framed mirrors, elephants in silver and different keepsakes kept here and there accentuates the ambiance. The open kitchen with hung brass utensils gave it a very Mughal kitchen look, but it's certainly cosy.

Terrace call
Climb up to the second floor to have a drink or two where the decor with a huge red-lamp chandelier, music and food is 'very British'. Andu00a0 if you want to enjoy the weather, the grill menu and open terrace are the ideal partners to make your day complete. It has white coloured cane furniture, which is pleasantly soothing and the relaxing ambiance will take you away from the cacophony of this crowded city. In winters, one can soak in the sunshine and beat the winter chill with barbeque dishes while summer evenings will be very pleasant here.

Break your fast
The bistro offers the healthiest of meal options along with a wide array of grills and fresh fruit juices (which were unfortunately not available when I visited) to go with your food. The menu (peppered with jokes and cartoons - How do you know an elephant's been in your fridge? There are footprints on the cheesecake) has a range of soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and buns. The USP of the place is that they serve an all day breakfast, which includes Bangers and mash with bacon, Pan fried mushrooms on toast, eggs or Bubble and squeak - choose whatever suits your taste buds. From the appetisers section, we ordered veg cromesquies which were quite crisp and a Mushroom and cheese pie. The non-vegetarians have quite a lot of options like Spicy country sausages, made from chicken, and are for people who like spicy food.

Tusking tricks
The cheese fondue was a sheer delight, where melted cheese was served hot with candlelight underneath and accompaniments like mushroom, bread, potatoes, olives, capsicum were simply irresistible. Mulled wine was served complimentary accompanied our food. The Irish stew served with rice, was something one can give a miss.u00a0 The Apple and blueberry crumble with ice cream from the vast options, was simply yummy.
